The digital speedo is enabled only by changing a few bits in the EEPROM of the instrument pack. It can be done for instance with Phil-T4 IPKChanger program which is probably the safest way to do it. Maybe doing it with TOAF triggers a ZCS recoding of some sort for whatever reason that might have the effect you described, but if that's the case, then it's just very bad coding on TOAF's side (and that wouldn't be a first). I've never seen a case myself where activating the digital speedo on hi-line cars of any model year would trigger any side effect, except for the T4 message then saying that the instrument pack checksum is now incorrect (of course it would be), message which can be safely ignored...
