Default First attempt at walnut facia.

Wanted to finish the walnut dash but don't really like the stick on kits, so thought I would have a go at some hydrographic printing. The colour match is a little off so need to adjust the base colour but quite pleased with the outcome. The drink cover is just for colour reference.

I was just thinking the same thing. Looks very nice. I would be interested in knowing what this would cost in the end. I've got quite a few things I would like to be in walnut.

A few questions:
how durable is the finished layer?
Is it very scratch resistant?
Does it need a long time to dry?
How likely is it to fade in time?

the colour match looks closer in the picture, but im sure with a bit of tweaking I can get a better match, want do the highline front, window switches and interior light next.

I used a 2k clearcoat over the top so should be as durable as exterior paint.
as to fadeing only time will tell but as far as I am aware should last fine.could add uv protection with the laquer if not.

Sounds good. I happen to know that a small company not far from me does this also. They charge roughly 50 euro for a piece like the one you used.
Can you estimate what this has cost you? And if you are willing to do it for other, what would you possibly charge them for a piece like the one you used?

p.s. if you need more things to test on, I've got a few
