Two questions
The gaiter gas come adrift at the bottom of the gear lever and the cover on the handbrake is torn, so, (a) how do I remove the gear knob and (b) the handbrake cover. I have had a looksee of how I can tackle this but I do not wan't to use brute force and ignorance.

Slide the grip forward off the lever, and unclip the plastic bis from around the base

Once you have the gear nob off(sharp pull upwards keep your face out of the way,I put a pillow over the top ,save getting a black eye Honestly)
The surroud then prizes up useing something like a broard screw driver or paint scrapper, When off , turning it over the gaiter is held on with round spring clips gently prize up bit at a time take your time or the plastic lugs will break. every thing is easier to put back on.

If it's an auto put it in neutral before removing.
