Torx ? Tool For seat Removal
Hi all
Can anyone tell me what size torx tool I need for front seat removal ? I have even read somewhere that they are not Torx bolts. How easy is seat removal (physically). I don't want to break/damage anything. Thank you trimani (Alf) |

Torx 50 fits mine, just be careful not to slip or round anything off.
Apparently they are a speacial type of TORX 50, or some say Ribe 8 - Mine have been in and out twice with a Halfords low quality Torx 50 and no issues... but new bolts are recomended...

Edit: My seats are T50, and IIRC, every MG/Rover i've had has been T50. Once they are all undone, rock the seat backwards and disconenct any wiring for airbags, pre-tensioner, heated seat etc. Then carefully lift out of the car

Take your pick from EBay Alf, any size drive which suits, but i would suggest 3/8http://www.ebay.co.uk/sch/i.html?_fr...c&LH_PrefLoc=1

Hi Alf...
I just used a plain Torx Socket - did the job fine.... Also, I only removed the Airbag Fuse about 30 minutes before I commenced any work - the same for changing the Steering Wheel aswell. (See pics).
