Default under bonnet pump noisier than usual

this week i have noticed the whirring from the under bonnet fuel pump is noisier than usual , have lifted rear seat to check if in tank is working and it can be heard whirring when ignition is switched on, checked the fuel low pressure with some diagnostic software and got 3.77 bar which is over 50 psi could it just be a new fuel filter needed.

Hi
If the car hasn't already had the in tank pump changed I would bang a vdo one in. I paid £90 delivered, that just leases the ubp, which can be changed easily if you carry a spare. Just remember cutting out isn't funny so spend the money.

Default Fuel pump Costs

I have just spent over £650 on a fuel pump and filter,,These are getting rare so the garages know it and charge more.

Do not ever ever run the fuel low it will burn out the pump as I have I learnt.

Bilsan330 that sounds a lot of money, which pump was that for? For someone who has changed both pumps before it's a straightforward job. I got my itp from Jules. The ubp was new old stock £29 delivered pierburg. I had cheaper pattern parts in, they last 18 months, one packed up the other was still working but flow rate was below par.

Whaaaaaaa? did you have to replace the high pressure pump? surely thats the only thing that would cost so much.
