R75 classic policy recommendation
Hi,
My Peter best policy circa £150 has lapsed and they will not renew (they can't take new customers I'm told). It was a 5000 miles policy. Anyway, please can I ask if anyone has a recommendation. I have my no claims on my other car BTW. Many thanks, Jim |

Try LV (Liverpool Victoria). They are a very reputable company.

I had my Scimitar, and a 2nd one with a diesel lump under the bonnet, with Adrian Flux and always found their quotes competitive, but I recommended them to a mate with a V8 Beemer and he got the sort of quote that suggested "We don't want you business", so I guess there is no simple answer.

I can understand that! Mind you if you get a better quote elsewhere and then speak to them on the phone they will probably find the "magic discount" button ..........that really ticks me off!

Currently insured with classic line on a classic limited mileage policy second year with them and no complaints even gave the best price on renewal instead of jacking the premiums up.

classic line were prompt to call back and offered an ok price sub £200. I'll keep shopping around as still not down to Peter Best price for last year but I'm moving in the right direction now.

OK if this is any help to any members, might be a pointer and save you some time:
Peter Best - don't do the same policy for new customers (any my policy expired). Quote v high >£300 Footman James - No policy on offer Adrian Flux - £256 Classic line - £200 Lancaster - Shade under £200 Everyone's circumstances and quotes will be different, my advice is to shop around but classic line and Lancaster look like the most likely to give you a good price right now for a classic policy. |

I struggle to see the value of using 'classic insurance'. I always go to a comparison website and choose the cheapest. This year M & S bank came out on top with £126. That's comprehensive, £100 excess and 10k mile per year. Is there anything wrong with that?
