Abs
Ok,
Well another minor niggle has arisen. The ABS light has come on, And comes on every time you start the car. It did stay off for about 45 miles one day. I stopped and when I restarted the car it came on again. So is there a simple way of defining which sensor (If it is a sensor) is at fault. I dont have access to a T4 so that is out of the question. One thing I did notice is when it first happened when I switched the ignition on it would do the self test and the ABS light went out and then came back on again, Now it comes on and stays on (No self test?) Any advice appreciated

Try taking the plugs apart and reconnecting them, might just be a loose connection.
Whilst doing that you can check the wires as well. Stan

The first thing to do is to remove both front wheels and look to see if the ABS sensor cable has popped out of its bracket on the suspension strut. Inspect it carefully for evidence of abrasion on the tyre when the steering is at, or near, full lock. Does the speedometer fail when the ABS light illuminates during driving? If so, this points to the front RH sensor. Does the cruise control work when the ABS light illuminates? If not, this points to the front LH sensor. Does the sat. nav. work normally when the ABS light illuminates? If not, this points to one of the rear sensors. (See Kev75's post no. 22 in the thread "Abs problems".) You can also check the voltage output from each ABS sensor using a multimeter but that's quite an involved process. Simon

OK, the speedo still works when the ABS light is on. I dont have cruise or a fitted Sat-Nav. So cant tell if it could be NSF or Rear sensor John

I can not separate the blue connectors under the bonnet as they have started to break up. Maybe that is the problem?. What I might try is bypass the connectors and see what happens John

I've had 3 ABS faults on different 75's and they've all been down to crud/rust building up on the rear back plates and damaging the magnetic bearing ring. This of course is not definitive, but is quite easy to check. It's quite easy to change a rear wheel bearing, meaning it's quite easy to inspect it. When all the build up of rust was chiselled out problem went away.
