rover75 connoisseur .DOOR TRIMS Floppy
G'Day Guys. The door trims on this car have a velvet cloth type insert that has become floppy . The glue that holds the cloth to its backing has failed; Looks like a major drama to fix ..........unless someone has come up with a smart FIX . So............any comments you may have are welcome. Ive pulled off a door trim and there is no clear & obvious way of re-fixing the cloth to its backing. Ive got a few ideas but Im hoping the collective strength of our club might have some unusual fix that works. Ive thaught about a syringe full of glue. Poke needle thru cloth, apply glue and stick cloth to backing . But Im worried the glue will show thru the cloth . All comments or ideas are welcome . Thanks . PAUL

You have to fully remove the cloth, clean off all the old foam and recover I’m afraid.
The plastic welds can be drilled out to enable separation of the parts of the door card. Time consuming but well worth the effort, some members have used different materials to good effect too.

After melting off the plastic rivets I've re fixed the cards using tiny self tapping screws, works well with a small washer under the head.
