Are you sure the motor is packing up? I thought that and found the mechanism the motor drives that engages with the wiper was stiff so just opened the window and gave it a squirt. All fine then (and make sure the pin and hole line up when you close the window again).

Because I have a dog guard on my tailgate I don’t open it to put stuff in and out the only time it’s opened is when I have the dogs in the back for ventilation. I am not getting a full swing left to right on the arm I have a look today and see if there’s any stiffness in it. I would still like to get the other glass off the tailgate as it’s been tinted and I would like to put it on my car.

You should be able to put some power to the tailgate from a battery and open it that way, presuming the wiring harness is still on the tailgate, then you can swap out the rear window with yours.
