Power steering hose fretting
The hp hose on my 2006 75 Diesel has almost worn through to a leak just ahead of the retaining ring, adjacent the engine cover.
It appears the hose surface has been fretting against the underbonnet soundproofing material. You can't drop the retaining ring so the hose sits lower where it loops over. Has anyone encountered a similar problem?

Try putting some insulation tape round the pipe. I have got some aluminium tape round mine. You could What my friend has done. He drilled some small holes through the bonnet insulation into the bracing member, and screwed some small screws into it so that if does not rub on the pipe.

Thanks for the tips, Gents.
I think for hose may be far too gone now as it is right down to the woven material and I'll have to source a new one. I like the conduit idea - I have some tape around it for the moment.
