Cool 2005 MG ZT 2.5 V6 180 Sports Auto SE****NO LONGER AVAILABLE ****

NOW BREAKING
ALL PARTS AVAILABLE

MG ZT V6 180 Sports Auto SE

MOT until December 2021
159,300 miles
Cambelts, Waterpump, pulleys and cam seals replaced late 2020
4x Brand new Avon ZV7 tyres

Its a lengthy description, so grab a brew and strap in

Paint is LEF X-Power Grey Metallic, and the Trim level is the top of the range SE, and has the 18” Apex wheels from the V8 which are very rare and sought after.

The car has 4x brand new Avon ZV7 tyres fitted only a few hundred miles ago at £120 each. I did plan on keeping the Apex wheels as they're worth a fair bit on their own, especially having spent shy of £500 on tyres. But it came with Apexes from the factory so they will be staying on.
Only the MK2 180, 190 and 260 were available in SE trim so they are a rare car to find these days.
Mileage is on 159,300 miles currently, however because it has the Jatco 5 Speed automatic gearbox, the engine doesn’t really achieve very high revs unless you really demand it, so there is much less wear and tear on the engines as a result. You certainly wouldnt guess the miles driving it thats for sure.
The KV6 engine does sound lovely, with a brand new exhaust backbox fitted in December that has settled in nicely now, and the V6 burble is just right, you can barely hear it when cruising and idle is also quiet, but push the pedal a bit to kick down a gear and it can sing with the best of them for overtaking.

It’s a 2005 model built only a few months before the doors of Longbridge closed and MG Rover ceased trading. Quality is very good as a lot of silly things were rectified for Mk2 builds.
The car is an SE trim as I mentioned so it is fully loaded with £6000 worth of extras over a base model when new.

Specification:
2.5 V6 with 180bhp
Jatco 5-speed automatic with Sports and Snow modes
Rattle free upper inlet manifold with custom built VIS motors
Electric Full Sports Leather Seats
Heated Front Seats

10 Speakers and 180w Amplifier
Cruise Control
Electric Rear Sunblind

Automatic dimming rear view mirror

Car is also equipped with the following airbags:
Steering wheel airbag
Passenger front airbag
Drivers seat airbag
Passenger seat airbag
A pillar airbags
Curtain roofline airbags

Multi function steering wheel
Electric windows all round
Heated rear window
Central locking
Volumetric interior alarm

Seats are in great condition considering the mileage, with minimal bolster wear compared to what you'd expect to see on a 16yr old car:

The car is not without a few niggles however and does need a few jobs doing:
1) Oil leak on front bank crankcase (bought the gaskets and crankcase breather gauzes from Rimmers which I will include in the sale)
2) Rear suspension could do with a bit of attention, one of the dampers has a leak so i'd replace both. (DMGRS £114)
3) Wheels would benefit from a refurb. Two have started flaking.
4) Rear discs and pads are getting ready for renewing.
5)Aircon works but needs a full re-gas as the compressor was disconnected when the cambelts were done. I may get chance to do this before sale.
6) Scuff to front near side bumper as pictured
7) Superficial loading marks on rear bumper as pictured

Service book is stamped with a documented history. It was owned prior to me by a mechanic who did the servicing himself and as such is not stamped.

In my 1yr ownership it has been serviced and had a few items replaced and issues addressed.
The big one with most KV6 engines is the cambelts. I had the full cambelt replacement done late last year, all the belts, pulleys and tensioner were replaced, along with new water pump and cam seals. At the same time the oil and filter were renewed and the coolant was also flushed and topped up.
Car has been amazing and I wish I could keep it as a weekend cruiser for longer runs but I need an estate for my daughters wheelchair.

I’m not into swaps, I’ve already bought another car so it’s a straight cash sale, I could break this and take the main SE goodies off and sell car off cheap, but it wouldn’t be an SE then and I would rather the car keep its heritage as it left the factory.

So I’m offering it as it stands in its original factory SE spec for someone to continue enjoying as it is a keeper and fixing the few issues it has. It is £1350 and does come with nearly £500 of tyres I’ve just had fitted and has 7 months left on the MOT.

If my other cars sell before this I’ll be getting the few jobs done and I'll put it on Auto Trader for a much firmer price that reflects the cars true value.

I’ll reduce the price to £1200 to move it on to a club member.
My insurance expires on 4th June so can do test drives upto that date.
If it’s still here after 4th it will be SORNed and stripped
