Default Adobe Reader update

Just downloaded an update for Adobe Reader, the amount of junk bundled with it is unbelievable, including something that will warn you if storms are in your area

Had to go into the advanced download menu, checking/unchecking boxes, clicking decline God knows how many times, I think I managed to just get the reader itself!

You downloaded it from a website or was it an automatic update?

I've always used Foxit Reader for pdf files. Much smaller program (though is getting a little bigger lately) and not intrusive.

I just need something simple as all I ever do with pdfs is read them.

Agree that it's a pain & if you don't read what else it wants to install, you'll end up with toolbars galore & other unwanted software.
Java is another program that you have to be selective with during updates.
I always tell my customers to scroll through & remove ticks from boxes before clicking next/yes or ok !
The exception of course is the acceptance of terms & conditions/EULA which you don't usually get asked about anyway during Adobe/Java updates.
