At least it was cheap to fix.

Where did you source the last replacement pump? Mrs Noc's Facelift diesel has now done over 240k miles, and I'm sure even the later pumps don't last for ever.

Hmmmm. We could guess why this happened I think. Well done for fixing it using traditional methods!

Hi,
the original pump lasted 55k before showing issues on T4, I think it was a VDO insert not full pump and housing.
The pipework is very brittle, and even the new pipework, fitted at the time of the replacement, is brittle.
This seems to be the cause of the pipework being forced off of the top of the pump.
Shouldnt go anywhere now!.
I will smell of diesel for months......
I sourced a second hand pump from a breakers, didnt need it in the end as it was clear the pump itself (on my car ) was working well.
Thanks
Paul

The original pipework was reused when the pump was replaced (VDO insert), they are very brittle and the clip holding it in place just didnt grip it well enough, not with 3.5 bar from the pump .
Would be good great to source similar clear hoses like the ones fitted.
Happy it was am easy fix.
