Default Bonnet & Alarm

Hi,
I am having trouble with my Bonnet and alarm, the switch has been changed for a new one, the bonnet height adjusted and additional padding put in place all with no effect in the alarm, which still goes off randomly, stating the bonnet is open.
It looks like a wiring issue, which may take some time to sort (time is one thing i dont have !) my question is can the alarm be disabled so I can lock the car at night,or if used for a journey?
Thanks
Paul

Hi Paul
Try this remove the switch and check the wiring loom plug, seen quite a few inc one of my own that had corroded in the plug and was causing it to trigger the alarm at will, replaced the loom and job done,
Mick

I have been in the same situation. I even bought a new switch and fitted it still went into alarm!!! I turned out to be the battery. Once the battery was replaced fault never came back.

I had a similar problem, the wire was broken (Well plastic chafed and corroded the copper) About 3" below the plug.

Thanks,
I will try to whip the bumper off at some point this weekend, time permitting.

Thanks,
is the loom easy to change/get hold of?
I did notice one morning, a day or so before the bonnet warning/alarm issue, that the outside temperature reading on the dash went up to about 36 c before settling at a correct 4 or 5 C.
May be connected, going to have to find time this weekend . somehow!.
Thanks
Paul
