Cold air blowing from back seat air vent
The air vent in the back is blowing cold even though the front are blowing hot. Anyone else had this problem and have a solution?

It's by design - warm air comes from the vent under the seat (from memory).

Cold air blowing from back seat air vent
Quote:
I’ve never sat in the back so I’ve never realised haha! I was just doing some cleaning and running the engine as it’s been sat since end of November and put fans on full to clear dust etc. Thought I had a problem on my hands for a minute there...and yes your right warm air does come from under the seats. I was thinking exactly the same thing as you when I got my 75 but it is indeed by design.

The rear vent between the rear seats do only blow cold, fresh air. I had a whistling noise in the car and couldn't work out what it was until I discovered that one of the vents was very slightly open. Shut it and the noise stopped.

I thought the same last week when I reached into the back to grab something I'd dropped. It was an icy blast. Might explain why no one wants to sit in the back!

I’m glad I’m not the only one haha. And it’s definitely a Very weird design feature.

On the face of it that would appear so Adam, but it actually addresses the issue of rear seat passenger comfort which other manufacturers ignore. Rover Group cars, and BL before them, have been at the forefront of this. They realised that to avoid a stuffy interior and the overwhelming desire to open a window (which increases noise level and turbulence) it is necessary to provide fresh air to face level at the same time as warm air to the feet. That is what the vents of the 75/ZT provide, and not only to the driver and front seat passenger. Occupants of the rear seats enjoy warm air to their feet and simultaneously have an adjustable cool air supply to their faces both in terms of volume and direction. If it's not to some people's taste they can turn it off.
What more could you ask for? Simon

Don’t know whether it’s related to this vent but does anyone else suffer from cold air coming from under centre console lid?
