To get round the problem I bought one of these battery isolators. £7.95

If I am not using the car for a few days, I just disconnect it and happy days!
I had to cut a small corner off the battery cover to fit.

Please be aware that when you re-connect it the alarm sounds, so have your key fob handy.
Don't be tempted to use the enclosed fuse as this defeats the purpose
Good luck

I have a parasitic drain on my Transit. Fitted one of those exact same battery isolators until I find time to locate the parasitic drain. Really good result for me too. Found out the previous battery was fine so it's stored charged as a future spare.
My V8 is better than the Transit, but still only lasts about two weeks. Now I have it hooked up to a CTEK MXS 5.0 and it always starts first time.
