Default Clicks but doesn't start...

...it's actually my TF, but same engine as so many Rovers

Sometimes, when I turn the key, there's just a click under the bonnet. Repeat, and it almost always starts immediately, then generally behaves for the rest of the day.

Back in my day, we'd have muttered "Solenoid..." but I don't suppose we have such things nowadays?

Only 21,000 on the clock - should I be worried?

What makes you think that Don't know about the diesel and V6 (never owned one) but the 1.8 and 1.8T have a solenoid, you can get a replacement on Ebay.

Ah, well, this IS the 1.8 as it's the little TF

Thanks, don't know why I thought they didn't have them any more, except a vague memory of it being something else when the 75 (diesel) failed

Thanks for the link
