Today is the 40th anniversary of Operation Black Buck, when a single RAF Vulcan bomber flew from the UK to the Falkland islands and bombed the airport at Stanley preventing the Argentinians using it after they invaded. They flew 3,700 miles to Ascension Island then another 3,300 miles to the Falklands, refuelling 11 times in total. https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-englan...shire-61283828

I had been hoping a TV channel would be showing a repeat of the documentary about it but seems they aren't bothered.

Cheers for that, I'd been looking but hadn't found it yet.

Saw Vulcans numerous times in my Air Cadet days, the videos are impressive but they don't give a true impression of the sheer power, during take off the "Vulcan howl" (90% power and above) turned your insides to jelly!

Getting the hang of siopao now, evidenced by the fact Ging had five of them

Cool

Good morning all! Checking in here after an 'interesting' journey back from work where I sampled the 'joys' of a Railway Replacement Bus... I wouldn't recommend this to anyone who actually needs to be somewhere on time! 😂

Richard, sorry I missed your reply earlier. I must say that I found taking a course of Anti-depressants extremely useful back in 1997.

I tried counselling and hypnotherapy, however the Pills did work for me. I suppose it is worth looking at all available options and picking one that works for you. In any case, you have a Support Team here and we're all rooting for you. You have survived so much. You do have the strength and support to start living again. I guess is appropriate to quote my late friend Big Dave: "It is time to learn how to swim".

I must now get on an listen to some more music. The beauty of Valves is that one can do late night listening without losing details and warmth. And in today's straightened times, a Valve Amplifier makes for an effective heater! Catch you all later today! 😎 😎 😎

Here is a beautiful song that I enjoy listening to by candlelight. Quite magical. One for quiet reflection.

Cool

Morning everyone.

Another grey start to the day.

It rained yesterday at the Callington Vintage meet, so we went to Par market and had lunch there.
