Not the best memory, but I have recently found some very early launch brochures from Bramall of Lancaster, whom I worked for in the former guise of Rix Manor.

If my memory serves me correctly the premises were moved onto the Whitelund trading est. in Morecambe under the new heading of Dutton Forshaw.

Must have been 3 years ago. Anyone fron Oxford know what it is now?
Alexance MG Rover - formed in late 2003 by the mangement of New Banbury Rover, who's site was to be redeveloped.

The site was a former BMW dealer (North Oxford Garage), who had moved to a larger site.

In early 2005, Alexance went bust, and the dealership transfered ownership to MGR, (who provided alot of the startup capital), and rebranded Phoenix. Site only lasted a couple of months until the demise of MGR.

It was empty for ages after that, and the sales area is now a Wine shop. I understand the workshops are still empty.

They were in too much competition with another local dealership (Kernahans). High rent was also a factor.

Ironically, Kernahans have now closed (only the former workshop remaining in business) and their site is also to be turned into a Wine shop!

My service book is stamped Dutton Forshaw in Maidstone 01/03/01. (date of its first registration).

Now a Citreon (and Smart Car I think) dealer according to the t'interweb.

Interesting reading my service book. Until 08 my Connie lived in Maidstone, then in Loughton, then Stockton and now back South.
