Default Folding back seat stuck

Hi,
I have just spent an afternoon trying to free the folding back seat of my Saloon.
The push buttons are stuck down, and the drivers side is free, but the otherside isnt.
The only time I have seen this was a while ago, and the (Forum member) owner had to destroy the seat.
I am in the process of getting another set, but dont want to destroy the seat until sure of the replacement.
Its a shame, the back seat is flawless.
Any ideas?
I got soaked (and two colleagues!) attempting this!

This was posted a few years as a solution:

Pull the vinyl in front of the seat push button back slightly and feed the hook down the gap between the button and the foam.
You should end up with the threaded tip pointing vertically.
Once the hook end is down past the plastic housing that the button is mounted in turn the hook end (ie the foot of the hook) so the tip is pointing towards the rear of the car.

At this point you need to push the hook downwards a couple of inches hopefully collecting the seat catch bar on the way down.

It may need a few attempts but doesn't ruin your seats if you take care.

If you don't understand my instructions let me know and I will try and get some photo's done.

Regards,

Ian
No idea if said hooks are still available

Default Thanks Suzublu

Thanks to both who replied,
The guide that Suzublu sent did the trick.
Amazing that it stumped so many of us at work!
On my way home now to sort out the replacements.

Default Rear seat Mod

If you're going to do a mod do a search on here for the one posted by neilbaker86, better thought out and has never failed me.
