Default Great friendly service from Jules

Hi,
I've been having on going problems with an air bag issue resulting in the dreaded warning light coming on. After doing the usual cleaning of the under seat connectors the problem still persisted with the light randomly coming on and off....
Meanwhile whilst all this was going on, the crank pulley decided to fail spectacularly to which it sounded like the bottom of the engine was going to drop out. Well as i love this car so much i took a deep breath and gathered my thoughts and got to work sorting out all my cars woes. After licking my wounds from the crank pulley episode as I'm clearly not mechanically minded and garage bills are not cheap, I set about tackling the air bag issue. It was clearly not a fault with the connectors and a local garage confirmed it to be the passenger airbag sensor at fault on his scanner. As my car is a mk1 it has the old style early sensor which cost a small fortune new compared to the newer mk2 75s.Being there the size of a match box, with which most probably have got some simple basic electronic parts in them i decided to look for a second hand unit.
Well that was easier said than done to say the least as there like hens teeth. Hunting around scrap yards revealed nothing. All the early cars where picked to the bare bones by people knowing what was worth taking to squirrel away for a rainy day.
Eventually I gave Jules from Conway a call.
This guy really knows his onions about our cars, and unlike generic garages, he has a true passion to help and get your car problems sorted.
I was delighted to hear that he did have a good second hand sensor and duly arranged to meet him.
As Jules is a keen enthusiast of ZT/75s he also likes flying, and asked if I could meet him at his local flying club to were he would sell me the part for a " i must say a good price"
On arrival i parked up next to his 75 tourer and watched him flying around for 45 minutes towing gliders up into the Welsh skies. Eventually he came down to land and taxied his plane into the hanger and warmly greeted me. Unfortunately he forgot the part, but we jumped into my car and a short drive took us to his home were he quickly checked his T4 for the problem and whipped the seat out and replaced the sensor which i wasn't expecting him to do. I suppose he would also know it was good to go if he did it himself, so this a great help to me. He modified the connectors and even hoover the embarrassing mess under the seat which i never thought was there. Thankfully all the carpets were dry so I'm just putting it down to wear and tare. A lift back to the air field and he was off flying again again.
So a big shout out to Jules for fixing my car and at a very reasonable price too.
If you live in the North Wales area don't hesitate to contact him, and keep him busy with our cars, as once "these guys" like him dissappear from specialising in our cars, we will be pretty much up the creek without a paddle

I've only met Jules the once and I totally agree he's a great guy and very thorough in any work he does on our cars. I just wish I was a bit nearer to him for convenience sake but I certainly recommend him.

Yes. 78 miles from me but worth everyone of them. He did numerous things to mine. Id also got a grumbling AC. He put in th required oil and gas and it was quiet as a mouse after. Very lucky indeed, i thought id goosed it.. Worked perfect for years. Since then iv sold it but i bet its still going strong. Re flying my friend who lives near here taught him how to fly. He's a great chap as you say.
