Default Aubergine mats replacement - advice sought

Hi,
My interior is Aubergine leather and the mats are looking tired. I'd like to replace them. As far as I know you can't get Aubergine mats for 75's new aside from LHD so I found two options:

1) These are custom made, the closest colour I think would be burgundy and they cost £99+delivery. Not sure if they would look ok.

https://carcovershop.co.uk/carsearch...%20Set&id=1659

2) I could alternatively go with sandstone from Rimmers (£79) as a contrast. Oddly the passenger side mat isn't shown with the eye holes for the mat hooks.

If anyone has any better ideas I'd love to here .
Many thanks,
Jim

Hi. I saw this but I think this is drivers side LH so would not work as mine is RHD. Thank you for looking.

Sorry Jim.

The picture initially looked to me like drivers side mat for RHD, but the description says the opposite as you pointed out.

No problem, as I say, thank you for looking.
What I find odd is if they are restocking then someone must be making them unless Rimmers are buying a supply back from a country that is LHD. I guess that is the case....

Hello Jim,

Please don't spoil your beautiful aubergine leather interior with burgundy or sandstone carpet mats. Refurbishment is better than replacement with second best. Have you tried cleaning them using a domestic water extraction machine? I find the results from this are surprisingly good. However if the colour has faded or the pile is worn excessively I'd be researching a classic car carpet specialist able to dye your originals or even make a new pair for you to the original design. If you've ever seen the TV programme Salvage Hunters, Classic Cars (Quest channel) you'll know that amazing things are possible.

Yes, I might be able to improve them. I just noticed you can get a burgundy mat made from this supplier that isn't a bad match. It's quite a difficult colour to find but I'm pleased with this.

Hi Jim,

Don't forget that the colour you see on your computer screen won't be the same as the colour of the mat viewed in daylight. I'd ask for a swatch before committing yourself.

Not a bad idea. I'll ask them to send a sample through. BTW what trim colour would look good do you think? I'm thinking Anthracite maybe
