lots of diesels for sale now on the bay. previous high prices for diesels now a thing of the past , accept for very low milers. the petrol models 1.8 and V6 all going up and up, but few in numbers as people move to escape the zone fees ever increasing in built up areas. how things change !!!

One of my sons has just picked up a 61 plate Subaru Outback 2 ltr diesel for under £5,000.

One lady owner, yes there are still some about, he bought it off her, she's had to pack in driving, serviced every year if it needed it or not,passed all MOT's and no advisories.

All the toys and 73,000 miles, excellent inside and out.

He doesn't need another car, but as he said, one of those things that if you didn't buy it, you would later wished you had.

Yes there are some amazing Diesel bargains, a friend who has recently retired has just bought an 18 Month old Skoda Superb Estate Diesel for half the price of a new one with less than 10k on it.

I wonder if Vans will go over to Petrol as the Towns and Cities start imposing fees? The Electric option on Vans does not work yet for one there cost and secondly there range.

i get the same mpg near as damn it from my kv6 whilst on lpg. i dont understand why in this country it is suppressed. other countries around the world actively encourage the conversions with grants, and lpg is almost zero emmisions and power delivery very much adequate for most applications. most E.U countries signed up for the green agreement years ago for lpg. this country did too, but never gave out any incentives in practice , but agreed to it.no grants ever given here. in fact they had to be forced into a climbdown on raising the road tax and fuel duties increases on lpg , and just gave a discount of £5. per year. my roadtax is around £320 per annum and others on lpg £520. people say well you get discounted fuel !! not really im hit harder in the pocket than diesel owners who have lower road tax for having much higher emmision .. fair or what ....

The VED on my Rover 75 CDTi is around £320 per annum.

LPG is dying fast in the UK.
I've had 2 cars that run on LPG but had them 10 years apart. What struck me was how many LPG retailers had disappeared. From major fuel retailers to specialist sellers and a few farmers that sold it to me.
A very busy garage that converted cars and motor homes has now stopped the practice of conversions and no longer stocks LPG.
It's all down to the Governments of the last 30 years that have refused to offer genuine promotion of the fuel. It is miles cleaner than diesel and cleaner than petrol, yet hardly anyone uses it now and it is not recognised as a viable alternative to the 2 main fuels. I really think there has been a conspiracy to keep this great alternative at bay to the benefit of traditional fuel providers. Strong opinion I know but having driven thousands of miles on it I really can't see any drawbacks to its use.

yes i know that the 75 diesels pay that. there are other diesel and petrol vehicles outside the rover world that pay very little road tax. it should be calculated upon emissions should it not. there are too many people paying for the polution of others. the MOT tests on diesels are in my view obscene regarding emissions , however business will suffer if its tightened up so you will see none of that. as we know its all about the money....
