Dartford Bridge
Been stationary for over an hour now on the M25. Must be a serious accident as 4 ambulances and 2 fire engines so far.
But, at least the crossing will be free when they eventually reopen it. |

At least you dont have to queue for the toll booths any more but there still seems to be some sort of hold up around where the booths used to be. Not sure what the effect of the new crossing further towards the Thames Estuary will be if it ever happens; motoring may die the death with high fuel cost (petrol, diesel or electric!).

I went to an exhibition about the proposed new crossing about 5 years ago and was told it would take about 7 years to construct from the go ahead.
We are having yet another enquiry so even if the go ahead was to be given this year - very unlikely - it would be 2029 before it opened. |
