I got pulled into the Customs shed at the Eurotunnel crossing a couple of years ago when I was crossing with my Primrose Yellow 75, Burt. The official asked to see under the bonnet. I popped it open (thankfully it worked - doesn’t always) and he said, “I thought the engine bay would look like that because the bodywork is immaculate!” I gave him an obligatory five-minute lecture on Rover 75 history and he wished me a safe journey.

Have to agree! While It's great that the OP got the well deserved compliments, I then suddenly remembered that he got charged for them via his Council Tax!! |
