Default The remains of Pre Production M001330

Today I discovered the small remains of a early Pre Production Rover 75....here in Sweden. Yes its true!! I was searching for a chrome bullet mirror cover when this mirror turned up at a scrapyard in the town Orebro .

It belonged to a blue Lhd Rover 75 2.5 litre manual from 1999.
First reg. in Sweden oktober 2002 = import.
Around 100.000 km done when scrapped.

Chassieno: SARRJZLLSXM001330

Anyone here who knowes more about 1330?

I dont belive the car exists any more, but I have sent the scrapyard an e-mail with a request.
They just have the left and right handside outside mirrors, one taillight and one frontlight from the car to offer.

Enclosed photo of the scrapyard register. The chassieno marked yellow and comparing data from my own Pre Production in blue. And also a photo of the right side mirror. To be continued............. // regards from Christian Sweden

Can't say I know anything about the one which has given up its mirrors, but I certainly remember your car very well.

Love this sort of thing, when a rare car or part is found ! Reminds me of the archaeologists when they find a single bone, then reconstruct the whole dinosaur...

I'm puzzled why the model description is given as 'Contemporary'.

Wasn't 'Contemporary' used on the export models right from launch, but only introduced for the home market when the Mk2 came out ?
