Default Airbag Warning Light AAAAAAAArghh

I can't get rid of this silly, stupid, annoying little glowing red man on my dashboard - it's driving me nuts. I've wiggled the contacts under both seats and even sprayed the old WD40 on em! Please can someone let me know how I fix this (I'm no good at soldering)

I fixed mine by pushing the two parts of the plug under the seat tightly together whilst Mrs Tourefogey wrapped it in insulation tape so the two parts of the plug could not move independently of each other.
So far this has worked . . .

Default Airbag

Cured mine once and for all by chopping off the plugs and "crimping" the wires together permantly.
It's a bit drastic and frowned on by some members but, it is a permanent cure..

Don't forget you need to check both seats although it is usually the drivers side that causes the problem

Tighten the suspect connector together using a small plastic zip tie wrapped lengthways around the unit. Use pliers to pull it as tight as humanly possible. If this doesn't solve the problem, tie the other connector in similar fashion. If that doesn't fix it, go under the other front seat and repeat the above. Through a process of elimination, the offender should be neutralised.

Wiggling or WD 40 is only a temporary cure.
There are 2 small yellow connectors under each seat (one for seat airbag, other is for the pre tensioners). All 4 plugs & sockets are best cut out and replaced with the Red Lucas type connectors.

You will then be safe in the knowledge that the airbags will protect you if need be. When airbag lamp is on, you have no protection in an accident.

I'm going to put the cat amongst the proverbials here but my SRS light has been on for weeks now (probably more as it was on when I bought the car and I just haven't got round to fixing it yet) and I have noticed twice when carrying a rear left seat passenger that the light goes out temporarily (whilst that seatbelt is in use). Could it possibly be a bad connection to the rear seatbelt wiring? Or is it pure coincidence? I had hoped to have it sorted by now but I really haven't had the time to look at it properly yet.

There is a pretensioner on each seat belt, so that's 5 pairs of connectors plus the air bags.

So in theory, you've only a 10% chance of success when modifying an individual connector! That's worth remembering if all your fiddling under the driver's seat seems futile.
