Default Odb2 scanner

Been digging around the net again, and just got this from a company .
I've mentioned mucar before, but the models I looked at seem to have been superceded.
But worth a looksee.

Default Updated 2

Just bought this for a test a MUCAR CS5..from Amazon as easy to return

https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B0C7H1MK...t_details&th=1

It has Rover and all the sub models inc MG's in the menus , also Chinese MG Saic).

1... With a firmware fix from the update menu it now reads my Diesel Auto in standard OBD2 mode

2. In MG/Rover mode , it talks to the engine, the BCU, the ABS, the Air con, the SRS. and the automatic gearbox.

It will operate many functions in test mode.

Shows live data in either numbers or a live graph.

Switches the IPK to Show "diagnostic mode" on the display says it runs and passes tests, but does not show the IPK doing anything as it does in the IPK built in test mode .

waiting on an answer from the supplier , about where is the oil reset function that is shown in the advert text .. so far seems NO oil reset Function, which is strange as the lower 2 models CS2 and Cs4 have this as does the CS6 ?

Because of the way the dear orientals market these, you have to use the CS5 to get the 4 modes , as the CS4 only has 3 useful modes . ?

the startup VIN auto reading does not pick up the VIN, doesn't do this with our MICRA either , but it does shown the VIN in the display whilst doing other functions ? .

A big test will be how much, if anything ? it will do on the 260

Update 2.. Surprisingly talks to the V8 Motor in OBD2 mode and also a fair bit of the rest of the system in Mg/Rover mode..
Does the ABS/SRS/BCU . operates things like individual light tests on and off, windows up and down ,C/locking etc pretty much like it does on the Diesel.

This costs a fair bit less than a PSCAN with added bonus of scanning a few thousand other makes and not needing a laptop .

Still considering whether this will replace my old Delphi and laptop setup ?

Also got TOAF and Phil T4's IPK changer so these will do almost everything as well using my laptop , the only hassle is the size of my laptop in the car

Got try it on the other family cars now.. Ford and BMW

Cheers Ceedy. Keep us posted on the query you've sent the maker/supplier. Might get one when that answer comes through.

Seems this model does not do the resets ?

Strange considering the 2 models below do ?

But if you are happy to buy from china , where they are made

You can get a CS6 like a cs5 but with all 7 reset types from Ali express for under £80 or £119 on flea bay

Very little in the electronics industry is not China produced. There might be some thought going into re-shoring due to the stance of China but it is minute at the moment.
