Default Scottish Region 2012 Proposals

Hi all,

As 2011 is drawing to a close I am starting to look at planning out the meets for 2012.

There are now a few established "annual" meets and I will then try and plan a few others around those.

So, to open the discussions we have so far got the following diary:

Jan 12 - Sunday 29th January - Monte Carlo Rally Start - Clydebank

Feb 12 -

Mar 12 -

14th April 2012 - Pride of Longbridge
15th April 2012 - 12th National Meet at Avoncroft Museum, Nr Birmingham

Apr 12 - Oban/Speyside overnight trip possibly weekend of 28/29th April

May 12 - Sun 27th - Scottish All Rover Rally

Jun 12 -

Jul 12 - 3rd Annual Gretna Meet (Date TBC)

Aug 12 -

Sept 12 - Magnificent Machines, East Fortune Airfield (Date TBC)

Oct 12 -

Nov 12 - 4th Annual Loch Lomond Meet (Date TBC)

Dec 12 -

Possible suggestions for new meets are the new Transport Museum in Glasgow and a road run for Fish & Chips to Largs (or the like).

Please let me know any other ideas you may have guys (and girls ). Happy to co-ordinate whatever good ideas the members may have

Derek

hi
with being new here i don,t want to fall out or argue with anyone, but isn,t it a bit premature to post up for the oban/speyside/where ever trip when it,s still under discussion of where, when, and how in a different thread?

The Oban/Speyside trip is 'suggested' for spring time.

The 2012 proposals thread is just that, 'proposals' for the year ahead and Oban/Speyside has been pencilled in for spring time.

Both threads need discussing and dates confirmed so I don't see why any of the threads should not be there.

Hi Phil,

Welcome to the club. As Glenn (Yella Fella) has said this is a thread for proposals, of which the Oban/Speyside weekend is one. Discussions can take place on the other thread or on here. Members can either start their own thread (as Freebyrd did for the Oban/Speyside weekend one) or put forward their ideas for discussion here.

Until dates and venues are agreed they remain proposals. I look forward to hearing from you with your suggestions in due course.

Derek

Cheers Glenn, you are of course correct.

Thanks,

I noticed on the Pride of Longbridge event is on 14-04-2012, the day before the National Meet at Avoncroft Museum, Nr Birmingham and they are only nine miles apart! Maybe worth considering doing both events and making a weekend of it as suggested in the link below?

Thanks guys, I was aware of the POL although as it is not a club event I had not included it. However I take the point that we, as a club, are suggesting making a weekend of it with the National on the following day so I have now added it in to the diary.

Thanks,

Derek

I have just booked Mr and Mrs Yella Fella into the Bromsgrove Travelodge for £48 for the Friday and Saturday night to attend the National Meet and POL the following day. £48! Good deal!

Arrive Friday 13-04-2012
Saturday 14-04-2012 - National Meet
Sunday 15-04-2012 - Pride Of Longbridge

Are some of the other jocks thinking of going?
