Lock lubricant

I need some help please, when the outside temp drops to 0 my boot and drivers back door locks freeze.
I've tried the usual wd40 then vaseline still no joy can any body suggest a good product ?

I popped into a locksmith when I had a similar problem on an old motorbike and the chap gave me some kind of weird powder, was a bit like graphite, it worked a treat, I don't remember the name as it was a few years ago now and it was expensive for the amount I got but it worked really well.

gt 85 available from halfords in the push bike section.then some lithuim grease on the external bits

Hi, I had the same problem and also wondered what to use ?
Looking around the shed one day, and being a plumber, I came across a can of silicone lubricant spray used for putting plastic push-fit pipe fittings together.

I gave this a try with quite good results.

Available from most good plumbers merchants.

Advice from AA bloke that attended when Kizzie decided to size her ignition lock barrel... DO NOT use WD 40 as it flushes out any existing lubricant and dries out. Use graphite based lubricant.

Rub an hb pencil over the key then put it in and out of the lock, the graphite will transfer to the pins and free them off.

The best stuff in the market is Kabba lock cleaner if that does not solve your problem then a spray with Kabba then a touch of graphite grease. Please don’t use WD40 it will gunge up the lock something terrible. Fish oil is sticky messy stuff that attracts Dirt and dust. Nasty stuff is WD40.
