Default As we say goodbye, My 75 / ZT timeline in pictures

As my time as a 75 / ZT owner draws to a close on 2nd May, I thought I'd post up some pictures of the cars I've been privileged to own since I got my first 75 way back in March 2004. The cars have been a pleasure and, on occasions, a pain to own, but I've loved them all. Sadly I just can't justify keeping the car for the minimal miles it's doing as a boy's toy. I guess like many of us here, when I got my first 75 it was my daily drive, and 3 out of these cars were just that, racking up as much as 1000 miles a week.

Now, Doris has done less than 300 miles a year for at least 4 years, and that's not doing her any good, so she goes to start a new chapter in North Yorkshire next month. I wish her and Justin, the new owner, many happy miles together.

March 2004, V418MCF replaces my Sterling Coupe on daily drive duties. A 2.0 CDT Club, she gets some subtle modifications and an X Power re-map in the 100000 miles and 2 years we're together.

April 2006, Y716USD comes along. A 1.8 Club SE. Upgraded using only genuine Rover accessories, and treated to a Leather /Electric seat upgrade. "Beryl" also clocked up huge miles at times and was sold in 2012.

In October 2011, I bought a ZT-T120 as a workhorse for my business. I too would get a few updates over the 4+ years it was my daily driver. Not the fastest thing on the road, it was christened The Silver Slug, but a (mostly) reliable and comfortable place to mop up the miles.

...then there was Fungus, the "free" 75 that belonged to the father-in-law of a friend. He had given up driving and the car languished for 18 months. In the end they just wanted it gone. A 2.0 V6 Classic SE with only 45k on the clock, it was soaking wet inside and the upholstery was pretty shot, but under the moss was a really nice car. A donated Deep Sea Green leather interior was fitted, once all the damp and issues it had caused were rectified. The car went on to a new life in Paisley.

And here we are with Doris, the final 75. We took over the car after the untimely passing of Tam Leek, AKA Rotrex, in 2013 and have enjoyed and cherished her ever since, taking her down to POL in 2015 and Gretna every year since we took her on. Probably the best of the lot in my opinion, we're going to miss the old girl...
