Brake pipe corroded - MOT Failed

Hi again, I've also as MOT advisories to repair this:

Brake pipe corroded, covered in grease or other material Nearside Front (1.1.11(c)

Brake pipe corroded, covered in grease or other material Offside Rear (1.1.11(c)

Anyone can tell me if I need to change for the MOT retest or I can go again without warring about it ? If I've to change please send me the link to buy it as I don't find it anywhere ..

You need to inspect them, they may just clean up, or they may need replacement…

As advisories they won’t affect the retest other than staying as advisories but something you need to think about having rectified

Yes it all depends on exactly what the problem is - if it is just grease covered pipes then shouldn't be a problem, but if it is corrosion then it can only get worse as time goes by and needs sorting. As mentioned, best to inspect all the brake pipes and see if they need replacing or not.

You will only find flexi hoses for sale as brake pipes are made up from a roll using a flaring tool to form the ends .
Most garages will make brake pipes or you can buy the equipment and make your own .
As others have said you need to clean off and inspect your brake pipes to access the condition although as an advisory will pass this mot

If any pipes are needed use Kunifer 10,

a copper based pipe, easier to work than steel and will outlast the car.

Also worth considering that the original pipes are steel, and not in any form as easy to simply join on to if you wanted to try and put a flair end onto the car's pipework, you will need a really good quality flairing tool as the budget ones are likely to simply make a horrid mess. If you decide to replace the front pipes from the abs module to each front wheel, be ready for some learing how to bend this pipe well and effectively to follow the original shapes required.

i have found these abrasive strips brilliant for cleaning up brake pipes on our vehicles, especially the vertical ones in the front wheel arches. Once cleaned, a rub with Kurust, then wipe off.
