Default key fob won't open door

hi guys and gals, my key fob has just suddenly stopped working, i can still use the key to open and lock the door, and can still use it to start the car,i have renewed the battery, but still it won't lock or unlock, the doors, not to sure if After spending hours cleaning my leather seats with soap and a bit of water, it may have seeped through the seats on to something electrical underneath the seat, every thing else appears to be working fine, wouldnt have thought anything under the seat would cause it not to work, also if it was the battery inside the fob, surely it would slowly die, and not go all of a sudden, any ideas please, thanks Ian

There's nothing in the seats that would cause this, is the light flashing when you press the button? If the key is not a genuine one it might have just died.

Hi, It sounds like your door lock actuator. Do a search on here, it quit comman.

If you dont fancy doing it yourself. Get one and come along to the next Midlands Nano Meet , there will be some-one willing to help you or do it for you. I know Ive done one or two there.

Hope you get it sorted.

thanks for the replys,it is the genuine key, and yes the light does flash when pressed, the only other job that I have done, is clean the contacts in the switch box for the wing mirrors, which were'nt working, but are now,so I'm not sure if that has anything to do with it.

The switch pack wont affect the door solenoids at all.
