True, if you don't ease the knurled nut the disc won't come off without a fight. And even if you do the disc sometimes doesn't want to come off and you end up pulling the pins out of the backplate.

Had another look at the video, about 3 mins in you see the four Allen bolts caked in brake dust, and then at about 3.50 they are cleaner even before he loosens them.
