Project Drive Deletion:
23rd September 2002 / from VIN 269854 – 1.8 petrol only
The engine undertray and fixings were deleted on 1.8 petrol models.

So Jeff your car would never have had one originally fitted, it being a 2003 build.

I don't have one on my 04. I noticed the car didnt have one but remembered my 52 V6 had one fitted.

For anyone who doesnt have an undetray, I dont think it would do any harm to fit one. It would help keep spray and moisture out of the engine bay. It may also help a bit with airflow under the car and increase downforce at speed.

This is a picture of the short under tray fitted to 1.8T models.

i also recall cooling issues have been raised on here in the past regarding the PRT when the tray has been removed.

The 1.8 turbos all have the shorter undertray by default. Project Drive didn't affect this model in that context.

Just hit a big bird in the road today, hate to know where it would have gone, if it were not for the undertray.
