Default about to become a non Rover owner

Sorry to say that I am about to become Roverless. My 04 tourer in BRG is up for sale as I have another car now or will have on the first of December. I would have put it on here but I have seen so many 75's and Zt-t's for sale on the Forum with a lot less miles than mine and in much better condition that have not had any interest shown that I thought I would be wasting my time. Anyway it is on Ebay and showing a bit of interest.75 BRG 04 tourer with ZT-T front and rear bumpers. I have some chap coming to look at it tomorrow but I expect he will be the usual time waster.
\For better or worse I have bought myself an 06 SAAB 9-5 1.9tid Vector sportwagon auto with 84000 on the clock. Full SAAB service history and not a mark on it. The paint is called Parchment Silver.

I need an automatic these days as my knee is playing up.

I will remain a member of the club and keep an eye on things and will be attending Pride of Longbridge but in my MGF. I must just add that of all the motoring forums I belong to or have in the past this is by far the best by a mile. Yes that is my tourer behind it.

DONT do IT!!!! left Rover ownership in 2008,always regretted it, have now repurchased ,returned to the fold, now in process of getting it up to required spec....I have the most atrocious arthritis, always owned automatics, even the wife's 2019 MX5 power shift is automatic...MY Rover is like a slumber land bed with wheels and power unit!!!(slight exaggeration but you get the drift!!!)
However good luck with the SAAB excellent engineering, big wallet required when problems appear...all the best

Ha ha ha - brilliantly put.

OP will be back, Rovers are an addiction.

I've driven more different cars than I could even begin to remember - always come back to this marque - even if I sometimes have a hissy fit when one lets me down.

I am hoping they don't appear!!!! I will not be doing lots of miles in it as I do have another car for everyday use. I will miss those lovely leather seats and the soft suspension but I will not miss the "What is not going to work today."
I wish there was a place to send my old car to so I wouldn't have to deal with all the idiots on EBAY. This may not be allowed but here it is anyway.

Saab is a nice car . You could join the S.O.C. (Saab Owner's Club) if you wished - £30 pounds at the NEC this weekend

There are club discounts at certain establishments to Club Members.

Hope the cam belt and water pump changes are up to date and I would always branded fuel which have the detergent additive packages to stop the system gumming up ( It happens on Saab's as well ).

If you ever need centre caps and/or black wheel nut covers they are available fairly cheaply , but please avoid the cheap Chinese imitations - now where have I heard that before ! Parts are readily available .

It looks a nice car and sensible having the Auto - enjoy

Thanks Clinte for all the advice. This Rover is only the second one I have had and I have loved them both. I have owned X type Jags (a 2.0cdt and a 2.2) an S type 3ltr petrol which was superb ditto a 523 BMW. I love straight sixes but driving them round Bristol is very expensive. The 75 I am selling is the first manual i have had for years. Two 6 cyl Mercs were very nice but rust prone. I should have got a petrol 75 as that rumble from the cdti first thing reminds me of a tractor. If I like the SAAB I may get a petrol one in the future. I have joined a couple of SAAB forums but neither of them are a patch on this one. I will try the owners club.
The cam belt and pump were done at 64000 and the service book is full of SAAB stamps. It has two new rear tyres and the body is unmarked. Can't wait for the first of December to get my hands on it.
