You're nicked mate......Not!
I've just been reading this article and cant believe it! If a crime has a value of less than £200 PC Plod don't want to know. Absolutely ridiculous.
http://www.ibtimes.co.uk/police-igno...ailers-1652841 I've been looking at outdoor Wi-Fi CCTV kits with all the yobbo's here and almost clicked to buy this afternoon but after speaking to a guy across the back with a similar kit installed he basically told me to not spend a fortune on one as twice he's notified police of attempted break-ins only for the police to not even follow it up. It said a cheap deterrent one is just as good, beggars belief.

They have a completely different view if your tax ran out the previous day, automatic fine, points on your licence, car siezed, and recovery and storage fees to pay.
Of course, this is the way to deal with untaxed vehicles on the road. The point I make is that if there is money in it for them, they are relentless. No money in lifting thieves....for the victim....tough, get on with it. Who would run a shop these days ? Extortionate business rates etc etc, and some spotty Herbert can just walk in and take your property. Disgraceful |

One thing that did surprise me was people are stealing cheese to sell on, who knew there was a market for stolen cheese? You learn something new everyday!

Even if the police do something, it can be a long, sorry story.
I work at a Sportsground, and 18 months ago, we got broken into. Among the items stolen, were a petrol strimmer, leaf blower, and 2 hedge cutters. An off duty police officer with a dash cam drove past a Ford Focus parked outside our entrance at 4am, and saw someone loading the strimmer into the car. He called it in to his colleagues and they stopped the car. He had the car registration on camera, with a clear picture of the guy loading it in the boot. When stopped, he still had everything on board, claimed it was all "a mate's". He got charged. 1st court appearance, failed to turn up as he was in hospital after being chased by police and hurting his leg. Case adjourned 2nd court appearance, failed to turn up as he was in custody after being caught by police breaking and entering. Case adjourned 3rd court appearance, failed to turn up as he had been signed off by a Doctor for stress. Case adjourned 4th court appearance, turned up (hooray) but his solicitor claimed that as he was 'known to the court officials', he wouldn't receive a fair hearing and wished the case to be heard at another court. Case adjourned 5th court appearance, failed to turn up, found guilty in his absence. Warrant issued for his arrest. We've got our tools back, but after all this time, they're not really good for anything. Anyone care to work out how much it has cost for 5 court dates to be processed, all over 2 grand worth of nicked tools that are now scrap?
