Obtained these stainless 45 degree elbows to finish of and divert the exhaust pipe heat away from the bumper, although the bumper got warm it never got exceedingly hot with the exhaust gasses.

that looks like a lovely neat job!

Out of curiosity, before you added the turned down sections, was the exhaust 'boomy'? I imagine some cars would have this issue depending on the shape of their bumper this would have been more of an issue than heat in my head.

I thought the box was quiet already, but with the pipes turned downwards it seems even quieter, perhaps placebo effect?

I think that looks like a million bucks. Great job!

Cheers,

Seems to be just for petrol. Diesel one would be nice. Too late for me... I paid for a Longlife stainless steel job and it's an awful rattly, boomy affair at anything over 2500rpm. Would love to get hold of an original spec diesel back box.

A diesel exhaust pipe is 57mm OD, but you could utilise an adapter sleeve of some sorts something like this perhaps? ebay has lots of options.

In post #16 there is a link to ebay and reducers, the company that makes them are only two miles from me, MIJ exhaust, they make and fit custom stainless exhausts, I was there a couple of weeks ago asking about a cat back system and I asked about noise levels, he said they could make it as quiet as I wanted or adjust the noise levels to suit if I wasn't happy, they seemed to be very helpful and friendly, I will wait until the inner skin of my original goes before I take the plunge though.
These from China look okay as an oem replacement for the V6 though, albeit with a little adjustment for the 75.

Well the back boxes have been increased in price from £175 to £250. I feel this will discourage owners going this route now.

£250 for a back box! Think I'll go the stainless route then........

Nice to read some good things!

Price increase was as result of shipping.

These are obviously, as I'm sure most have guessed, from China - at around 11kg they're heavy!

I just try to supply the parts that are there, sadly the heavier they are the more expensive.

Maybe if a group could get together I could get them shipped instead?

I've calculated around £200 is the best - would love to go cheaper but with margins it's difficult
