Default Halfords paint mixing

Hi all

Just popped into my local halfords to get some paint mixed in an aerosol and they don't do it in store anymore.
You have to order it and it takes 48 hours to get.

Not sure if this is everywhere or just the Preston branch.

Tried that in my local store a while back and they insisted that I had the paint code wrong . Used paints4u.com in the end who had no problem sorting out the right colour .

Most automotive paint suppliers will do "trade" cans but expect to pay about double the Halfords price for double the quantity! If you take a sample panel (usually fuel flap) they can mix to shade.

I pay £12 for an aerosol of any of our basic colours, this includes supertallics too, wouldn’t you’d Halfords for paint mixing, you are far better going to your local paint supplier.

Jawel paints in Tamworth (close to me) will run swatches over the car or just the area you need to fix to get accurate colour match, then mix a rattle can or a small touch up kit if you want all while you wait. Paid 13 quid for both last time and it took about 20 mins. X power grey metallic but I guess any colour.

I normally use llp in Preston but he couldn't do it today , hence the visit to halfords.

I just posted in case anyone else wanted paint and went to get it but couldn't.

This is a nationwide thing. It just wasn’t a profitable part of the business.
It can be ordered in though but customers must provide a paint code and name, it’s ordered via the deal with ECP so comes from them.
