Cool Hoping to exchange.................

................................ contracts on Friday 31st May. Just waiting on the sellers solicitors to confirm. My solicitor thanked me for my prompt return of the paperwork and the deposit.

Getting excited now, yes even at my age.

Cool Seems I might have.................................

.................................................. . jumped the gun a bit. I thought that once the contracts were exchanged I would be able to collect the keys. Seems this is not so, I have to wait till the day of completion. Neither the estate agents or the solicitors told me this, I got the info from my brother-in-law. So I've had to cancel my removal plans. Getting so excited now.

Cool Got it all wrong, again....................

............................................... seems that the contracts get exchanged this week and next Friday, 31st, the completion takes place. Once it is confirmed that the funds are in place, then I state when I want to move in and then I get the keys. Very stressful at the moment. But I ease the stress by going for a long walk.

On a lighter note, I decided to go and vote today. The Polling Station is about a 15 minute walk. I have a tendency to wear my leather shoes all the time, but today I decided to wear a pair of black trainers. Not wore them for a very long time and imagine my surprise when I found £30 stuffed down the trainer.
Years, Many, ago my late father used to say to me to make sure you always have your fare home then put a pound note in your sock. That way you’ll never be stuck in getting home. Over the years that one pound became five, then ten.
So all I could think was that I had stuffed the money into the trainer for that purpose.

So with my trainers on off I toddled. Another problem then required me to return home. The elastic holding up my jogging bottoms broke. Home to change then walked back to the Polling Station. Everyone I met on that walk said Good Morning, and I replied the same. Friendly bunch here in a Saltash.
After I voted then I took a stroll home but coming back a different way. Weather was nice. Made me feel so much better.

STOP PRESS STOP PRESS
Hold the front page.

Just had the solicitors on the phone asking me if it was ok to go ahead with the exchange. You can imagine my answer.
Once done then i’ll Get the funds transferred over.

Thanks for reading and the kind comments. Means a lot to me.

Thumbs up

Although we've never met I've been following a lot of your posts, particularly this one and I'm so pleased that things are finally working out for you Bob . I wish I could move from where I live in the West Midlands urban sprawl, the only time I get to de-stress is when I get out to the countryside, I used to live near the Chiltern Hills in Tring.

All the best,

Martyn

Cool With the click of a button...................

.................................................. ..... £180,000 was gone in a flash. Contracts exchanged today, and I’ve been into town and paid the balance owed including all the solicitors fee’s. And the blighters charged me £23 to transfer my money to the other account. Still it’s now done. To me it seems it’s been a hard uphill struggle. But I suppose in reality it was only 9 weeks ago I agreed to buy.

Actually got the right bus into town and managed to keep the luck going by getting the right bus home, first time I have managed that. And the bus home was one of those new hydrogen powered buses. Kept cutting out at stops, not sure if that was supposed to happen judging by the drivers language.
Still we got home.

Got a nice piece of steak for dinner with veg. Might go and buy a bottle of wine to celebrate. As also today I sold Redfive to a fellow forum member.

Thanks for reading and the kind comments.
