Sorry if I come across as churlish, had a medical at half 4 for my HGV licence and the car picked it's moment!

onwards and upwards.
If your fuel pump is not running Rob the ECM is wet, I carry NNN500340 ECM on the shelf and can have you up and running after tea if you want, it will save a wasted trip to the garage as well

Don't worry, I don't charge a premium to travel to"Mackem" country either

If you want to humour me, go and turn the ignition key to position 2, don't crank the engine, and see if the oil pressure warning lamp is illuminated

Default Take Up The Offer ASAP

Surely this great offer from Brian must be taken up, don't let a garage get their hands on it, Brian will have this sorted before you know it & give you all the advice you need to know about these cars.

Sadly people the harage have their hands on it. He's trusted so wont cost the earth.
If they can't diagnose then Mr Brian will come to the rescue, he's been kind eneugh to send me a mesaage. As previously mentioned it's great to know there's still people who'll help another out, warms the cockles (wherever they are).
Annoyingly the upper display (ipk??) doesnt work so kinda working from blind.

Do not let the garage mess with it, I guarantee they will complicate the issue, they will blame a fuel pump then take it out of the tank (Usually badly)

I have had to repair quite a few that 'Garages' have messed about with.

It's not likely to be the fuel pump Rob, the fuel pump will have no power to it because the ECM is not operating.

Your car will be on the cusp of being a single pump system, and these in my experience will outlast the car.

PM me your VIN and I'll check if it has an underbonnet fuel pump fitted.

And Rob's car is a single ITP variant, so on balance of probability, it's not going to be the fuel pump.............for instance this particular car is still running on the original pump

I've yet to see a single pump system pump fail, they must do eventually, but they are a completely different kettle of fish to the twin pump system.

I completely agree with Brian, as I have quite a few mk2 intank fuel pumps sitting on the shelf going nowhere as they just don’t sell

Well I popped in to see Rob this evening, his dried out ECM is in need of a little further TLC before it's goosed, and a little bit of bodgery was found in the IPK.

Some complete dimwit has ripped the ribbon on the message centre display, and stuffed a gob full of minty fresh chewing gum over the LED, and the actual fault this masked took me less than two minutes to fix

So apart from a cool thermostat, gooshed intercooler o rings, clapped IPK, semi clapped ECM, it's quite nice.......or

Almost quite nice, it's disappointing grey

Shopping list

Thermostat

Intercooler O Rings

Plenum Shield

Gold Resistor

Just kidding, Rob makes a mean coffee too
