Having a weak handbrake and rotten backplates on the 1.8, last weekend I changed the backplates, fitted new handbrake shoes, replaced the rear wheel bearings, upgraded the brakes to vented ones, feeling rather pleased at my efforts....

Only for the ABS light to still be on.

So after work today, off with the nearside rear again and replace the ABS sensor.

Pleased to say all is now well, I can now get it booked in for an MOT in the next week or so!

Ooh, watch out for the inlet air temperature sensor on the MAF John.......I'm not sure the dragon breathing on it won't cause damage

Off to Lates in about an hour for belts and major service! I'll feel more comfortable then after it stood so long!

You could not be going to a better person than Lates. Come away feeling that it is at the top of its form.No doubt he will check your vis motors are working. Are you having the auto box fluid changed also? See you at the nano meet if you are going. I have not seen your new motor yet.

Yep, auto box fluid, brake fluid, tyre protectors on, everything really! Apparently the old belta had been aligned using tipex and they were not correct! Glad the old girl is being done by someone who knows them oroperly!
