Default Rear Seat Base Rope Trick

Had a bit of a struggle with clipping the rear seat base back in after replacing the ITP on Mrs Noc's 75 today.

After trying to poke the spring clips back into place, and failing dismally, I tried using a bit of string and a handle to pull the clip back whilst pushing down on the seat.

Worked a treat!

Yes I used a similar poker made from a bit of metal tube to release the clips TC, trouble is I bent it trying to push them back in.

Ah, you need an old sweeping brush shaft.

Last time I had the seat out was to fix the fuel pump displacement issue. It actually took me longer to remove and replace the seat than it did to fix the fuel pump (had an aweful job trying to refit the seat) so I eventually fastened two long cable ties (about 15" long) to the seat springs and threaded them up/behind the seat back and sound deadening. Clip a mole grip to the tie end and a good tug from the boot end whilst an assistant bears down gently on the back of the seat seems to do the trick and just leave the two ties in place (poking out 4-5" into the rear/floor of the boot space) for next time.
