Thanks Phil - much appreciated

So far there have been three cases locally linked to this stuff.

I took it to be Cow Parsley - until it was pointed out to me that it wasn’t.

Hemlock is deadly - as we are on a river, I treat Hemlock plants on the edges of our sheep field every year in the spring.

If you do have it on your plot, Grazon PRO is highly effective in killing Hemlock within about 2 weeks(circa £65 for a 500ml bottle).

God no! - but it looks like my sons Labrador suffered from it. He became very lethargic, vomiting, not eating and then passed a lot of horrible bl00dy mucus. He also seemed well and truly “out of it” as regards his mental focus.

He was rushed to the Vets and they put him on a drip as he was dehydrated.

The gave him antibiotic cover and he improved quite rapidly.

Very worrying - very expensive.

The symptoms of the other two dogs very similar apart from one has residual neck and back stiffness and obvious pain as well.

We have quite a good local network here as we get Alabama Rot here in the winter - so people make sure News gets spread rapidly.

Hope they make a good recovery.

Thanks - they say it may be a while for his gut to recover - so he is on some natural yogurt stuff designed to re-establish a normal gut flora.
