Default Anyone used air con leak seal?

As title...had my air con regassed but was told it has a leak, not told where, just that its losing gas somewhere!
Typical fast fit regas I'm afraid. I thought that was all it needed, how wrong was I.
I noticed on doing some digging around online that you can get some stop leak for the air con system, just wonders if anyone had any experience with this or am I asking for trouble and should just pay the £50 to get a proper leak test done with dye etc
Your thoughts.

Definitely. Your best bet is a local mobile specialist who does nothing but air con. Google or Yell.com may find one for you.

Hi there,

Hope you did not have to pay for the initial regas if it was leaking. You did not say who did it but I know ATS do not charge you if there is a leak

Regards

Never use leak seal if you intend to keep your car, it just bungs everything up and within a few weeks will stop working.

I suspected this was the best bet, however I do like to have a go myself if I can.
Thank you!

It was no charge as they couldn't do it.

Oh, so do I Jamie! But that doesn't mean adding magic potions to the coolant, engine oil, automatic transmission fluid or air conditioning refrigerant.

I have just repaired a major leak on our little Citroen. It lost a full charge in just 24 hours and a mobile specialist found it in minutes using low pressure nitrogen. He charged £40 for this revealing diagnosis. I fitted a new pipe/hose assembly and it's now working just fine.

Well Simon, I will get on google and find a reputable air con expert and report my findings...hoping it's not a compressor!
