Default Rover 75 CDTI bonnet release not working.

The bonnet release cable has gone twang, but not broken, when trying to open the bonnet without sucess. How can the bonnet be opened? It has been suggested that the grill would have to be broken to gain access to open it. Any ideas?

He has "joined". The info is available to ALL "members" regardless of status. A PM has been sent
