Default Putting grease into drop links

Anyone on here got a 'how to' or tips on getting extra grease into new drop links before fitting them ? It looks as though it would be very easy to damage the rubber gaiters, and the circular spring clip looks quite tricky to get on and off.

Thanks in advance

Pete

You can use a syringe filled with CV Moly grease to do the job Pete, if you don't fancy removing the spring clip.

I tend to unwind the spring clip on the "big end" and turn the boot inside out over the ball pin, and work the grease into the ball and socket.

Have a practice run on your knackered drop links, it's not difficult to do I promise

The ones on mine from Delphi have a rubber band on them, I cut these and replaced with small cable ties but I used a syringe (without the needle of course), available from chemists or the ones you get with ink cartridge refill kits full of grease to fill the joint then pulled the ties tight with the rubber in place. I was amazed to find that two of them were bone dry and only 6 months old, hopefully this will prolong the life now and it can be redone in the warmer weather.
