Default 2006 CDTI Tourer Automatic - Poor health reluctant sale ***Withdrawn from Sale***

118,915 miles.

Car has covered less than 3000 miles since it was last tested due to ill health. The last MOT was on 22.02.2018, it expired on 21.02.2019

I have extensive history with the car but unfortunately the gentleman who owns it is now unable to drive so I've been asked to find a new owner for it.

The car is taxed until the first of May but will be sorned at that point if not sold.

It's an automatic diesel that isn't concours but isn't a dog either. There's a scuff to the front left bumper that I believe will polish out and there's a few car park dings and dents here and there but nothing a little love and care wouldn't sort out. The gentleman who owned it had planned on getting it detailed and driving it to Longbridge but sadly that's not an option for him now.

The car drives perfectly. The plenums are bone dry. it has working powerfold mirrors and working leather heated seats and a generic dog guard.

One key, usual problem with the remote plastic button wearing out but you can get replacement shells from ebay or the traders on here for a few quid.

Asking price is firm at £500 - I have no reason to believe the car wont pass an MOT, the history shows all the usual work and servicing has been done. I dont see any signs of rot in the sills or the suspension arms (or anywhere).

I started the car and drove it to my house today to park it up until sold. It hadn't been started or driven for six weeks yet ran perfectly. Original stereo, all electrics work as they should.

Here's a link to the only photo I have of it at the minute

The car is on the Isle Of Wight. Taking it back to Southampton on the ferry will cost about £30. It's a one hour ferry ride from Southampton to East Cowes.

The registration number is WA06 CYP if you want to look up the MOT history - nothing scary in it.

The VIN number is SARRJSTHK5D351798 if you want to look up the build data.

This is the most desirable combination of engine and automatic gearbox. The car hasn't been insured since the MOT expired as the owner was in hospital at the time and now cannot drive. If it had insurance I would be tempted to throw it in for an MOT because I genuinely don't envisage any problems except perhaps the headlights need a clean.

Message me for a phone number if you're genuinely interested but please don't expect me to sell it for much below the asking price as its priced to sell not to haggle.

The car has been sat at a boat yard for several weeks as the owner has been in and out of hospital for most of the last year. His partner has used it when her car was off the road but has a van and an audi so now he can't drive its surplus to requirements.

It has boat yard dust and grime on it at the moment so in the next couple of days I will wash, valet and polish it then add some photos that accurately show the condition of the car.

I havent yet completely ruled out putting it through an MOT as a check on ASK MID reveals it is still insured for a few days but obviously if it comes with a years ticket the price will change to reflect that.

I have no concerns about the car, it has had all the usual faults fixed including the thermostat and the plenums have been rodded regularly. Its had a new battery four months ago and a gearbox oil change with full service about six months ago, all fully receipted and all done by a local reputable garage at considerable expense.

There is no water ingress, there is no looseness on the rear taillights.

Hello all

Sorry for the radio silence, the poor health in question took a turn for the worse.

The important thing in so far as the car is concerned is it has had a pre-MOT

The garage that did the pre-MOT failed it on emissions (it had been sat not running for two months, and they tested it from cold) some cleaner and a new filter has now sorted that.

They failed it on a rear brake light - now sorted.

They also failed it on a non working horn - I BELIEVE this is either a fuse or the connector, but it is the only thing the car needs for an MOT now. As you can see from the pre MOT sheet, there are a couple of advisories, two tyres have uneven wear and the rear centre brake light isn't working.

The car has had a full valet, the attached photos were taken today, I have personally driven it over 100 miles today, it's a gem. There are no rust issues, the underneath is immaculate - I've tried to show the scuffs and dings in the photos (which I will atttach to the next post)

The car was originally advertised at £450 - the owner would like to recover some of what he has spent on it since then so he is now saying £500 buys it without an MOT, if you want it MOT'd I can get it done but he will want £750

Photos taken today, please note, the MOT was done the way it was to avoid the car registering a fail on the MOT history. The garage who did it will happily retest it for you if you're local.

I know we arent allowed to add phone numbers here but I dont get much chance to get online so could I please ask anybody who is definitely keen on the car to send me their number and I will call them.

I have had one firm enquiry but await a reply from him as to whether he still wants the car now it has been prepped and tested.

One last thing, the rear boot carpet has a rust stain from where a dog cage went rogue. I've tried to show it in the photo but it will need some elbow grease to shift it.

I'm sorry I haven't been able to respond to enquiries about this car. I've been in hospital.

I've recently found out that whilst I was in hospital a member here attempted to intimidate my partner into selling him this car for the pre-MOT price by claiming multiple forum members had paid me a deposit on it.

I asked Bob, (the flying bananna) to investigate these allegations to see if they were ever made. He has confirmed they were not.

My partner's eBay sale has been sabotaged by this individual, who is a car trader from Birmingham. I have reported his attempts to intimidate, bully and harass my partner into selling the car cheaply to the police and to eBay.

I have no intention of allowing anybody to treat my partner in the way this ''man'' has and fully intend, at the very least, to bring down the full weight of the law on his head.

I've also asked Bob to mark this ad as withdrawn until my health improves sufficiently to be able to deal with enquiries myself.
