Default My Rover 75 is running again

If you not part of the groups on Facebook I posted that I got my car back after letting someone use it for a week as they were going long distances on Tuesday a day after we let him use last week got it back and he said he can’t drive it there’s a fault so he left us with the car and said he would tow us behind my Nana’s house on Monday but the car was already repaired but the master slave failed it’s at that mileage 124000 miles and age 16 with it original clutch alternator only parts what aren’t original is fuel pump and master slave so now it’s time to put some money on the table to keep it running

That is unfortunate Thomas. Is it the master or slave that has failed?

If it is the master cylinder then try removing it, stripping it down and cleaning everything out - worked for me.

Not really just at that age and mileage with it being a diesel I know what will happen with it clutch will need fully replacing if not been replaced at alternator will cost about 400 quid but the bodywork is in near mint condition when clutch does go and alternator I’m just going to put her on the drive while the classics are in use as the 75 won’t be needed for about 2 years but I do hope she comes back on the road just before POL but the clutch hasn’t gone yet so will be using till then

Just read it again! still not 100% what went wrong with your car, but unfortunately, there are a lot more things that can go wrong with a car other than just a clutch or an alternator. By the way, you can get a brand new alternator for about £115.
