Age does not come it's self!
Another year has come and gone, and another year enjoying my Connie. Not so enjoyable was the bill for replacing the clutch recently. Apart from the MoT, which she passed with no advisories, there were no other repairs necessary. All in all, it's worth it to keep this lovely driver on the road.
The membership has also been renewed, as the help and information given over the years has proved invaluable, especially in the first year. It is worth every penny. The downside is, that don't know how long I'll be able to keep her. The arthritis in my right hip has kicked in big time, and it looks like a hip replacement will be the next step. The waiting time is just over a year though, and even on pain killers getting in and out of the car is not easy. Aye, age goes not come it's self! Fifer

Nice post, and so true. These cars are favoured by people of a certain age, and they're so low to the ground. Many switch to automatics too because of joint/leg pain. I do wonder how long I'll be driving them, already thinking of an auto, but out of laziness rather than discomfort gear changing. Truth is too, once inside they're so comfortable.

Don't wait a year for hip operation. You are allowed to have the operation anywhere in England, try the internet for waiting times elsewhere. My local hospital quoted 9/12 months, I found a CARE private hospital which caters also for NHS patients. From my original contact to hip operation 7 weeks! Good luck |

My wife had a hip replacement around five years ago, just before I got the Connie. As long as there is a space between the kerb and the car, she gets in and out of the car without a problem. Like me, she is loath to let this car go. The 75's are extremely comfortable cars. Fifer
